Will a DAB radio do this for me....

My local Gym has TVs whose sound has been muted - but has a sign saying "Select xxxxKhz to listen to this channel". These are ITV, SKY etc channels.

If I buy a DAB radio like this... http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...ILLIPS+DAB.htm

..will I be able to tune in to these stations ?

Is their a list anywhere of the DAB frequencies ?

Thanks for any advice

I don't think so - DAB (and FM) broadcast frequencies are usually quoted in MHz rather than KHz.

Best ask at the gym what band the transmissions are in, what kit is needed to receive it.

Thanks for reply - they may well be Mhz rather than Khz, cant remember to be honest. I just wondered if I had to have an FM radio rather than DAB - or vice versa...

If it's Mhz, I suspect it'll be FM. usual range is 87.5 to 108MHz. DAB is a bit too new to expect members to be able to take advantage of it.

I'd be interested to know what you find out - is it a national gym chain?

Yes - Its 'Total Fitness'. They have about 12 TV's showing various Sky, BBC and ITV channels.

Any suggestions what to buy if its FM ?

I'll ring them in the morning and ask what they recommend.

The gym will be using FM. There is no way they can be transmitting a DAB signal, at least not legally anyway!

So buying a DAB only radio is not going to be any use in this instance.
