Hi there
I'm looking for some songs that are unnerving and creepy.
Perhaps similar to "Emily's Theme" from Hide and Seek
If anybody knew any I'd be very grateful.

the original version of Alanis Morisette's "Uninvited" is quite spooky & very haunting - a quality song non the less.

"Susan's House" by Eels
Always nice to see Eels mentioned. I recommend Mark Everett's book "Things Your Grandchildren Should Know" for anyone else that's a fan of theirs.

"Bus Stop Boxer" - Eels

"Delicate Cutters" - Throwing Muses

Staying with the lovely Tanya Donelly..
"Full Moon, Empty Heart" - Belly
"White Belly" - Belly

And the obvious choice....

"Street Spirit (Fade Out)" - Radiohead

Also, not a song in the traditional sense, but check out

"Faaip De Oiad" - Tool

Enjoy.

From the 90s, "Your Woman" by White Town was *very* creepy (I've always thought so anyway! )

A few 80s names for you as well: "The Visitors" and "The Day Before You Came" (ABBA), and "Here Comes The Rain Again" (Eurythmics). Not massively unnerving, but a bit creepy and very atmospheric. Enjoy!

What's A Girl To Do by Bat For Lashes and Doctor Blind by Emily Haines are quite spooky IMO (though the videos probably do help create this feel).

Just looked. Those videos are brilliant!

As for creepy songs, I'd suggest:

Gloomy Sunday, or the Hungarian Suicide Song- Billie Holliday and several others (The one in the link may be the original), because of all the rumours and superstition surrounding it.

They- Jem. Not so much creepy as ethereal and quite heavy lyrics-wise.

Bring me to life- Evanescence- and in fact a lot of their songs, I daresay. Amy Lee has a very gothic voice. The video to Bring me to Life is quite spooky as well.

Tourniquet- Marilyn Manson. It doesn't sound creepy, but the video definitely is, and the lyrics are very sinister- but also implicit so I don't know what they mean. I shudder to think what it's all about.

Cancer- My Chemical Romance. It's just really sad, and I've come close to crying during it- and I never cry at songs.

I've added the videos- I just hope the links work because I'm really no expert.

The music of the Silent Hill series is extremely unnerving, spooky and darkly beautiful. Try:

Not Tomorrow - SH1
She - SH1
Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me - SH2
Promise (Reprise) - SH2
Stairs of Fire - SH2

And if you prefer vocals:

Let Me Out - SH: Origins (I think that's the correct title, but not certain)
Hometown - SH3
Room of Angel - SH4 (This is possibly the creepiest song I've ever heard. I honestly have to have the lights on whenever I listen to it).

Songs by Westlife or Simon Cowell's manufactured acts unnerve and creep the hell out of me.

Anything off Miranda Sex Garden's 'Iris' album. It was even too creepy for Goths.

Mmm, those are quite creepy. I think Radiohead - Creep is pretty disturbing, freaks me out to no end, although it also depresses me in an instant.

Tourniquet is really disturbing, isn't it? Cancer makes me cry every time, guaranteed. I just can't watch the video any more.

Who Are the Brain Police- Zappa/Mothers of Invention.

"What will you do when the label comes off..."

The echo effects and screams at the end make it creepier.

Oooh yes good choice!!

Your Ghost by Kristin Hersch and Michael Stipe is one that comes to mind.

Anything by Tindersticks, here's an example:

Lullaby by The Cure is very creepy, and it's terrifying with the video too - it really freaked me out the first time I saw it! Really great song, too.
