For Burns day?

I am.

Haggis, neeps and tatties.......YUM

Hornigs is the nicest haggis but I can only get it in the butchers in my grandmothers village which is miles away and I wont have time to go.

Can anyone recommend any other really nice haggis (not mcsweens)

Dare I say that I have a McSweens Vegetarian Haggis in the fridge - not quite the same as the original but a passable veggie alternative.

I actually quite like vegetarian haggis. But I would only have it on a baked potato or something like that. Its really tasty though but nothing like 'haggis'

I'm finding it difficult to get my head around that one. What is a vegetarian haggis and what is used instead of a sheep's stomach?

We are, Starrbright.

I've found a haggis (by 'Halls' apparently)

Got my tatties and neeps.

Got my Irn-Bru.

Will endeavour to memorise more than the first two lines of 'Address to a Haggis' by tomorrow dinner time.

Happy Burns' Day to ye.

A lot of Haggis are made with synthetic 'stomachs', even the meat ones in the same way that sausages are often made with synthetic skins.

I had a Venison Haggis the other week, fantastic, really rich meaty flavour to it.

McSweens veggie haggis is made with oatmeal, nuts, lentils, vegetables and spices. I loved haggis (and real faggots) in my carnivore days and this whilst being absolutely nothing like real haggis, is at least a really good alterative.

I'd love to have haggis tomorrow, unfortunately my OH won't even try it and doesn't know what he's missing out on. I've explained that it doesn't have to come in a sheep's stomach but he's adamant he'll never try it.

It does sound horrible, but it actually tastes nice. It's got tons of spices and stuff in it.

I ate it once, and found it surprisingly tasty. I wouldn't eat it now - I only ate it then to avoid offence as I was dating a Scottish guy and he took me to a Burns Night do.
