Basically true, except :-
(a) if a bookie is going to welsh on a bet, he's got to have strong enough evidence that there was a scam going on (police investigations etc.);
(b) most of the betting is going on in the exchanges (Betfair etc.), which will have no qualms about paying out as it's other punters' money you're winning, and not their own;
(c) the bookies run scared at BB markets anyway, and if anyone rings up wanting £100 on Cam at 25/1 they tell them they can only have a fiver.
