I can't be bothered with this: I'll let Jonty use my account. He doesn't often post here but I'll let him because I don't know the answers. Jonty? Over here!
Hello, it's Jonty here. In answer to the first, yes I do. I was wondering how long that goes on and I had dinner with Stuart from 2001 the other day and he said, all these years on, he gets on average at least one a day still!
In answer to your second point, that was (and, indeed, is) both of us.
I've never met John. I'd like to. It's interesting you guessed Eugene and I would make friends. He's one of the few people from the whole "BB" world I've met who I suspect will be a friend for life. We get on really well together. When we first met in Glasgow (I'd been to the Museums Association conference and he was working at the local branch of the BBC) we found a place to eat above a casino and chatted until about 04:00!
My favourite in "BB:CH" was Liam partly because I really fancied him and partly because I felt he wasn't really given a chance. Everyone said, "oh, he isn't integrating - he's not making the effort to join in with the others..." well, kt takes two not to tango and I'm not sure the others gave him much time. I think their world was very different from his and so it was harder for him to break that barrier down that it was for the others, who were that little bit more off the same page as each other. I think his editing wasn't very fair (which is true of most of us). He will always be known for one particular activity he did in there, which they chose to highlight. However, he certainly won't be the only person in the house ever to have done that...
Moving swiftly on I can't answer your last question because I was in it. There's no comparison between being in and watching so I can compare others but not that one. WHat I would say, though, was that I envy the "BB:CH" people their range of tasks. I'd fantasised before I got in of one like the Andy McNab one. I still wonder how I'd have got on. I thiught it was so interesting that Anthony cracked and Amy didn't. I think tasks like that genuinely tell you things about yourself that you might not have known. And it challenged our perceptions as viewers in terms of male v. female; boxer v. artist and so on.
