Nokia N95 Phone Problem
Hi
i have been experiencing problems with my nokia N95 as it keeps disconnecting and switching itself off, is there anything i can do to prevent this? i have updated to the latest software and stripped the horrible orange menus and got it back to the way nokia intended. just wondering if it was a common fault with these phones and if there is anything i can do? Thanks |

You say it keeps disconnecting. Disconnecting from what?
I have had some temporary problems where my N95 just switched itself off and restarted. Has only happened a few times though (4/5 times in 6 months), so isn't bothering me. But how often does your phone switch itself off? I'm not sure if the phone restarting could be to do with an overload of applications all running at the same time. Perhaps someone could comment on that. |

If there are loads of applications running, it can cause problems.
If you are not sure if you have applications running, then open up the phone menu, and if there is a little blue circle next to the icon, it means there is an application running in that section of the menu, you will need to go into that section and exit the application properly. |

sorry,
i meant disconnecting from calls and it was orginally going off once a week or so but now more so! yesterday it went off 3 times and disconnected from calls about 5 times! not sure if the disconnection issiue may have had something to do with the weather here, it was really high winds, with lorries being overturned so that may have an effect on it. |

The problem is apparently the operating system is just really buggy in the handset, I got rid of mine and bought an iPhone which I've never been happier with. If you want to stick with the N95 you can do a firmware upgrade which apparently sorts out a lot of the problems with it, or if you don't feel comfortable, take it to a nokia store and ask them if they can do it for you. Failing that you could return it, but the problems seem to be with a lot of N95s so no guarantee it will solve it. You could get a refund and different handset if you are not happy with it. |

Why do people make silly claims, which are obviously not true? Considering how many N95s have been sold, if there was a general problem with calls disconnecting this place would be crawling with posts.
I don't have an N95 or an iPhone. |
