Let me get this right, he has £51 to play with - if piled a load on one number and was lucky enough for it to drop in, he'll be looking at £350 back, at least? That's just with one £10 chip, any more and you're looking at a grand. A mega-budget would be fun, they could buy everything that's on the shopping list. Unless of course I've forgotten how roulette works.

simple - they will be playing with different Odds to the normal ones!!!

I exspect something like Double or Nothing!!
That way if you bet all £51 on whatever (Blank or Red?) and you win you get £102!

Maybe?

Normal roulette - betting on a single number pays 36-1.

Russian roulette - we end up with a housemate less!!!!!

Is that true?

Now that would be mad. I wonder if BB would let them rent stuff out if that was the case. Vaguely, I remember former HMs being able to rent something or other...
...or was it another programme?

...there's an interesting sociological perspective about gambling being iterated on C4 now.

Very interesting insights...

Anyone any ideas about the time of the task? I'm assuming 11am-ish so they get on with the task before giving them access to the "pub".

For those of us without live feed, can you update us on what Ray's been told about the task?

He has 5 x £10 chips & 1 x £1.

He can have a few practise goes at spin the wheel, and then the game begins

At the moment they seem to be heading for £30 on either red or black and the remaining £21 on numbers.

On what they can win I'm not 100% sure now, as either I've misheard, they're confused or whatever.

The numbers are what will make him the most those as it going to be 35 x Ray bet. (£10 x 35 = £350!)

On red or black it will be 2 x Ray's bet (i.e. if he bet's £30 he'll get a bit more that the current shopping list budget back)

He'll only have one attempt.

Think that pretty much cover it.

dizzie: he has £51 worth of chips split into 5 X £10 and 1 X £1

He is unsure what to do so Scott is giving him advice. Steph just keeps whining "I don't understand this I don't!" which drowns out most of the other conversation

He has been given a very long laminate which he has a bit of trouble understanding and reading out to the group. Scott seems to understand it and is explaining what he can do.

Ray will be alone and have no contact with the rest of the group via plasma screen. It seems stupid that BB are letting him discuss it with the group and they are deciding what to bet before hand. This surely defeats the point of the task being all the HoH responsibility. Another BB ballsup

BB "Ray has 5 minutes to practise spinning the roulette wheel"

LOL He's good with his wrist, shouldn't be a problem.

Actually if its standard odds he should get 35:1 plus his stake back, which makes £360.

Since he is only allowed to spend £300 that would be £60 down the drain if he puts £10 on one number, which is what the silly boy seems to be doing
