ipod touch

I'm debating getting myself an ipod touch, I dont really know that much about it in terms of specs, though looking at the official site they seem to be reasonable.

What i'm interested in is if people who have the ipod touch find it worth the money they paid for it, and how good is it from the point of view of a user.

*Any information about the ease of using the wifi connection on the internet would be appreciated.

Thanks

I got my wife the Ipod touch for Christmas and I use it quite a bit as well!!

The touch screen is quite handy piece of kit and it is very easy to use once you get used to it.

If you currently have a wireless modem setup in your home all you have to do is press the Safari browser button and it will connect you to the internet! This is mostly what i use it for. If your modem is switched on and you just want to check a quick email it is far quicker to turn on the Ipod touch rather than to boot up you pc, whilst browsing you can rotate the touch on it's side so that the screen is wider which is a nice touch, thats how you watch films as well.
Also on the main page is a You Tube button, if you're a fan of this it's great as I like to watch music videos.

I would go out and buy it, I got mine for £234 from amazon for the 16gb one

another vote for getting one, I have one that is jailbroken and well its just a great piece of equipment, I have a whole new look to mine with the custom theme I put together from various icons found on the net.

like above the wifi is as fast as your connection allows, first attempt you will no doubt have to put in a passcode to access home net if you have security setup.

when out and about just look out for wifi hotspot signs these tend to be free but some do charge aswell.

The touch will break down the free and encrypted wifi spots, the ones you need a password to access will show but with a padlock, the free ones do not have padlocks and tend to just be a click to connect thing then your set to browse.

Apple are releasing touches with the new software update on which will also give you access to an email client where you can check multiple email accounts, theres also a weather application, stocks, notepad and google maps which you can use to get directions to and from places. through messing about with google maps in internet explorer I have got directions to somewhere clicked the send icon and emailed it to my touch, I then click the link and boom opens the directions in google maps on the device (need to be connected to wifi first though).
