Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy Starts Now?
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a8...racy-done.html
As a massive GNR fan I cannot wait for this album to be released. Yet disappointment after disappointment has led me to the realisation that you can never truly be sure this album is being released until it is in your hands. However, I remain quietly optimistic that this is FINALLY the year Chinese Democracy hits the shelves. If it lives up to the hype, it could very easily be one of the best albums ever released. What's everybody's elses thoughts on Chinese Democracy? |

Axl has killed the GNR I loved with his ridiculous delusions of grandeur. The band was never just about him but a group of talented musicians making the best rock music ever.
Slash Duff & Matt are making quality music again with Velvet Revolver so I don't really care about Chinese Democracy. The Chinese will probably have Democracy before I buy it.

I'll believe it when I see it - I've been waiting years for this to be released!
![]() Having heard some of the tracks from this album, I hope that Axl has re-written a few, as they weren't up to much by GnR standards |

Last I heard, Axl himself said it would be released in 2006, then 2007, and now maybe in 2008.
I doubt it will ever be released. I have heard 8 of the apparent songs to be on the album through various sources, and apart from one or two songs, they aren't that good and certainly not the known and loved Guns N' Roses sound. this will either make GN'R the biggest band on the planet again or destroy them. I think the way things have already went for Axl, this will have more negative an impact for him than a positive. But Sebastian Bach, aka, Guns N' Roses spokesperson, has said that Axl has enough for 3 or 4 more albums already recorded and there will be more album releases soon. Let's just hope if there is that they don't take as long to come out as well. Paddy

I thought they'd already released it!
![]() Should be a good album - I like 'Better' and 'The Blues' anyway, and 'Chinese Democracy' is alright, although not one of the Guns'n'Roses songs I particularly like, tbh. |

Last I heard was it was going to be released in 2005!
![]() I think once everyone's stopped talking about it Axl will surprise us by releasing it, or at least announcing a final release date (which at the mo could be at least 2011 )

This has been running as long as the Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood duet album, another one which has long been promised but never completed.

Apparently this has been completed now though. Classic Rock is a pretty good source, especially if they've consulted Axl's personal assistant and are giving even more information in the magazine release.
Any thoughts on what the first single will be? I'm still saying it'll be 'Better'. A modern sound combined with some of the old GNR rock, should be pleasing for both fans of the old band and the new one. Personally I'd prefer either the title track or 'IRS', but it's still a decent song. |

GNR will never sound the same ... I really feel they had their moment and now Axl is flogging a dead horse, hence the album never being released as such.

Don't see it ever happening while Axl is around to be honest and it shouldnt really either-it is impossible to live up to the hype now.
Although Cather In The Rye and Better are good songs the rest of the 'new' stuff I've heard sounds like the sound of someone that is out of touch with popular music and doesn't know how to let go of the past. The leaked songs feel a bit like Michael Jackson's HIStory album overall. |
