According to this news story at her website (NB. dated 5/10/2007), the next album will be out in early 2008, and a free download of a track from it seems to be available (I didn't test this). I'm not familiar with the artist other than knowing her name, but I must say that in one of the pictures on her website she looks very much like a young Anni-Frid Lyngstad from ABBA.

I was hoping she discovered time travel, went back to the late 70's dressed with a flower in her hair and got her spinal column ripped out by The Exploited.

I can dream.

I think she is a fantastic talent - some people were just scared of her originality.

I look forard immensely to her new album; let's hope it will be of a similar quality as "Smile, It Confuses People".

Sandi was a bit of a disappointment live - I have seen her twice and she didn't seem 'at ease'. as the last time I saw her was only last year (2007), I doubt that she would think that she'd completely fallen off the radar.

"punk rocker" was an interesting song, even though she had one or two strange ideas of what life was like in the 60s-70s. the telephone had been invented a little before then...

Who cares?.

Mediocre singer-songwriter. Punk Rocker was rubbish, with dreadful 'bad teenage poetry' lyrics.

I care, otherwise I would not have asked the question.

She's touring in the next month or so. She's playing the Sugarmill in Stoke in a couple of months

And, NO, I'm not going to see her

Yeah, and as far as I know, the Head of State - ie Queen Elizabeth - has never played guitar.

She'll be back when the record company ponies up the money for the necessary bandwidth.

Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair - WHY NOT THEN?
In '77 and '69 revolution was in the air - IN WHICH COUNTRIES?
I was born too late, into a world that doesnt care - PERHAPS
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair

When the head of state didn't play guitar, BLAIR WAS NOT TECHNICALLY HEAD OF STATE
Not everybody drove a car, THEY DON'T NOW
When music really mattered and when radio was king, IT WASN'T, WE EVEN HAD COLOUR TV
When accountants didn't have control THEY DID - HOW ELSE DID COMPANIES RUN?
And the media couldn't buy your soul THEY COULD, EVEN SHAKESPEARE AND DICKENS WERE MEDIA TARTS
And computers were still scary I SUPPOSE 'HAL' WAS A MITE CREEPY (1969)
and we didn't know everything STILL DON'T

~CHORUS~

When pop-stars still remained a myth EH?
And ignorance could still be bliss STILL CAN FOR SOME
And when God Saved the Queen she turned a whiter shade of pale [NICE LINE!]
When my mom and dad were in their teens PERHAPS
And anarchy was still a dream WHAT ABOUT THE DARK AGES?
And the only way to stay in touch was a letter in the mail NO TELEPHONES THEN?

~CHORUS~

When record shops were still on top THERE WAS A FAIR BIT OF MAIL ORDER AND RECORD CLUBS
And vinyl was all that they stocked ACTUALLY, CASSETTES, 8-TRACKS AND REEL TO REEL WERE AROUND
And the super info highway was still drifting out in space WHAT, NO LIBRARIES? THE MOON LANDINGS HAD RADIO SIGNALS BEAMED BETWEEN EARTH/MOON
Kids were wearing hand me downs, WHEN DON'T SOME KIDS?
And playing games meant kick around ACTUALLY, BATMAN AND ROBIN, SUPERMAN, ROBIN HOOD, ACTION MAN, FRISBEE, LOST IN SPACE, DR WHO - WE PLAYED ALL KINDS OF THINGS
And footballers still had long hair ONLY A FEW AND THAT GOT WORSE AFTER 77
and dirt across their face NO CHANGE TO THAT

~CHORUS~

I was born too late to a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair

IT APPEARS THAT SANDI HAS TAKEN MORE LIBERTIES WITH THE TRUTH THAN I THOUGHT...

Same here! If there's one thing I hate it's people singing crap songs with totally inaccurate lyrics - especially when they werent' even alive to know what they're singing about. OK she may not have written it (correct me if I'm wrong) but she made her name with it. But then that's par for the course these days......

*leaving before I can start a Grumpy Old Woman rant*

I don't know what happened to her but hopefully it'll happen again soon.

She makes Leona Lewis seem bearable.

I think the writer was trying to be "clever" there, going for combination of punks and hippies......like that would ever have happened For a start they would have been different generations, near enough.
