the concept was good - combining two movements that approached capitlist exploitation from different directions - they were both individualistic and anti-authoritarian, but where the hippies hoped for personal enlightenment and appeal to shared humanity, punks had the attitude that they could see change was needed, but did not have an alternative structure in mind - which made them 'anarchists'.
some later bands combined elements of both - say U2 or the Levellers.
somebody might have been a hippy in 69 then a punk in 77 - it is only 8 years apart = between 14 and 22 years old - quite possible.
Sandi had a good idea, a nicely presented tune and somewhat ill-informed lyrics.
