Damn, I didn't know he was still alive & kicking

I renember seeing him on television when I was growing up, I loved the way he changed the words to songs

Thx nicebrit

That's okay.

I remember seeing him way back when i was 18, (long time ago now), he used to have his own show on the radio at bbc 2, then worked for Capital Radio, and then had his own
tv show.

Although he is still touring, he often appears now
on Countdown.

I saw him, way back in 1980 at the Knebworth Beach Boys show, he was brought on to liven the crowd up in the interval, it was bucketing down and he managed to cheer everyone up despite that! He was great.

I know someone who went to one of his shows recently, met him afterwards and said he is a really nice man.

Yep he is a nice man.

He is completely genuine and has done a lot for television and radio. He also completed the London Marathon last year with Carol Vordermon.

If you get a chance, visit him www.richarddigance.com

I remember seeing somewhere that he's playing the Churchill theatre in Bromley in March (I think), so he's probably doing a few more dates around the country if anyone wants to see him live

And that is far too often for me.
I think he is  and so is the other one Richard Stilgoe (think that's his name).

His personality and sense of humour appeal to me,
but then, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

There a few stand up comics who just do not make me laugh,
but Richard does.

Richard Digance has performed to an audience of eight in The Falklands and to half a million at Knebworth with The Beach Boys and Dire Straits. He's done lots in between too that's led him to a BAFTA Nomination and a Gold Award from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. He also finds nine letter words on Countdown. He has survived all trends in comedy and music and remains one of Britain's most unique entertainers performing his songs, rhymes and stories like nobody else.

A great man died, make no mistake
Today saw the death of Sir Francis Drake
He who left the shore behind
To float about in The Golden Hind
1596 was the year
Beneath the sea he’d disappear
Suffering from dysentery
They threw his body in the sea
Not a single seaman ever tried harder
To win the day over the Spanish Armada
A great man died, make no mistake
Today saw the death of Sir Francis Drake

Birthdays; Henry Vll, Artur Rubinstein, Jason Pollock, Jim Callaghan, Ronnie Scott, Rick Allen
Died on this day; Sir Francis Drake, William Yeats, Henry Vlll, Keven Conner, Jim Capaldi

Brenda Spencer, just sixteen, stepped way out of line
Killed two people and wounded more in 1979
All because she didn’t like Mondays was her sad excuse
Bob Geldolf and The Boomtown Rats put her quote to use
Her father had bought her a rifle as gift on Christmas Day
And with the stupid present, she blew them all away
On this day good things happened too
The Bangladesh Concert, 1972
George Harrison and the orange boxed set
No record collector can forget

Birthdays; Leadbelly, Sacha Distel, WC Fields, Victor Mature, Tom Selleck, Tony Blackburn,
Died on this day; Willie Dixon, King George lll, Jimmy Durante

Four men were in a bit of a fix
This day in the year of 1606
This was the day they were hung drawn and quartered
Caught out when the Gunpowder Plot faltered
Digby, Winter, Grant and Bates were the four
To hang from a rope for breaking the law
Can you believe on the very same day
King Charles l went but in a different way
For the things he did and the things he said
Richard Brandon the axe-man chopped off his head
It is said he earned just thirty pound
For knocking poor Charlie’s head to the ground

Birthdays; Boris Spassky, Gene Hackman, Steve Marriott, Martyn Balin, Franklin D Roosevelt, John Profumo
Died on this day; The Gunpowder Plot team, King Charles l, Edward Lear, Mahatma Gandhi, Orville Wright, Stanley Holloway
