ITunes/Ipod disaster...
Lazlo_St_Pierre

I have just downloaded three new tracks on ITunes, switched to my library and found that they are now the only three tracks in my library.
About 500 tracks have just disappeared off my library, and I don't know where they've gone to.
All 500 tracks are on my Ipod.
If I now attempt to synch my ipod to load on the three new tracks, will it wipe out all the 500 tracks I have on my Ipod currently?

(BTW, I didn't back up my library onto a disc, cause I thought 'it'll never happen to me' )

Personally I wouldnt put my ipod anywhere near it at present. Try reloading itunes or have you tried rebooting the computer.
If all else fails there is uploading software available to upload from your ipod to itunes/computer.
If you do try and sync it though, there is a chance you could lose the lot.
It may just be a temporary glitch (mine has done strange things in the past) but just in case it is permanent I wouldn't risk it.

Just turn off automatic synching.

Thanks, I will try and upload my Ipod songs to ITunes on another laptop computer, and take it from there.
Re-booting the PC hasn't done anything, ITunes still has only three songs on it
And when I have my 500-track library up on the laptop or wherever, I will be sure to make a back-up disc!

All the songs should still be on your computer, its just that iTunes does occasionaly forget about them..

Try, My Music > iTunes > iTunes Music
