I have always loved this CD

To me, this is another artist like Neill Young who stands the test of time.

I love this album so much...and even so much more that my mother also loves it.

And she is so precious to me.

Wichita lineman is just one of the greatest songs written in the last century in my opinion.
So simple and yet so beautifull.

Campbell was helped by the fact that he had Jimmy Webb as a songwriter, the aforementioned 'Wichita Lineman' and 'Galveston' are both brilliant and written by him.

Not sure if he had a hand in 'Rhinestone Cowboy' though.........

Funnily enough I was listening to Glen Campbell's Twenty Golden Greats this week.

A fine artist. 'Wichita Lineman' is a great song, as is By The Time I Get To Phoenix. Timeless. (two Jimmy Webb songs.)

I've been trying to track down for ages a GC album that has those two, and 'This Time' and 'If I Were A Carpenter' on it; the album having a particular significance to me... he sighs!

Good call! I think there is a lot of very decent songs in what you might call country or easy listening. Well written, well sung, good stories...

"By the time I get to Phoenix she'll be rising..."

'Galveston', 'All I Have To Do Is Dream' and 'Everybody's Talking' are all sensational, classic country tunes.

Glen Campbell certainly is a country legend - and lest I forget, 'Rhinestone Cowboy' of course!

Where's The Playground, Susie?, Wichita Lineman and Rhinestone Cowboy are all on my IPod, and all released before I was born.
A sign of a great artist to have songs appealing to future generations.
