Scouting For Girls, Robyn and The Wombats get played far too often for me. I only try and listen at 20 past and 10 to every hour, when new music usually gets played.

why listen to radio 1?

if you want semi-intelligent debate go to 5, if you want establishment pap go to 4, cricket go to 3 and easy-listening 2.

radio 1 is aimed at the lobotomised.

Try 6Music.

There's never an excuse to be bored of music radio, especially if you have a digital one. Bit of Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, XFM, Chill FM for non-stop Royksop, and throw in just a touch of commercial radio for the same tunes they've been playing for the last 20 years (it's only diverse if you weren't sentient in 1986. Tears For Fears again, anyone?).

Take That - Shine. Moyles played it this morning and Whiley last week. WHY FFS? It got played to death on the Morrisons ad and THOUSANDS more songs from the last 40 yrs could have been played instead. I listen because its the best their is available without DAB, but they REALLY need to pull their socks up and give us more variety. Playing Shine, or the bloody Hoosiers every hour is just plain lazy.

So anyone who dislikes Radio One is automatically old in your eyes?

How immature.

Agreed absolutely. Where on earth is the attraction in that dreadful song?

Personally if I'm looking for hit music I tune into Capital 95.8, it seems to have a better playlisting system.

If you want great music, look no further than Ayr Hospital Radio

I've heard Rule The World by Take That on Moyles' show quite a lot, but I think it's made worse by it also being played a lot on the breakfast show on Radio Broadland (my local commercial station)!

Ah, I go to Radio 2 if I want music 'more than five minutes old'. While one tends to hear the same song from the past now and then, at least it's a good variety of it. Why, for example, does a certain Welsh commercial radio station assume Blur only ever released Song 2, Parklife or Girls and Boys? The Coral only ever released 'In the morning' and so on.

As for Radio 1, they seem to play a song to death during the period prior to and after its release. It then fades away as it's taken off that playlist of theirs, to make occasional, irritating appearances later on. You can bet that new Kooks track will now be played to death during the course of their day, during the next few weeks.

I often wonder if Simon slipped them a backhander it was played that much

its one of those songs I now love to hate because its been rammed down my throat that much

bit like Wet Wet Wet (love is all around), Whitney (I will always love you) and Bryan Adams (Everything I do)

I now reach for the sick bag when I hear them sing

Another song that annoys me, I dont know the exact words - but it goes something like this:

(female singing)

and the girls, ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

and the boys, E E E E E E E E

and the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums,
