Nokia 6600 - LOL
As usual Nokia's technology sucks. Not only will the 6600 have their half baked bluetooth system but it will not come with an MP3 player - you will have to download third party software but it will also ONLY be able to play in MONO - not Stereo. LOL

The 6600
My 7650 doesn't play mp3 files as standard and do you know why? Cause its not a 'play' phone. The reason why the 6600 will not play mp3 files in stereo is because its marketed at the high end-user not the little man in the street.
Besides if Nokia 'sucks', why are they still one of the most popular makes in this country? I have used other makes of phones, but only Nokia seems capable of making a phone that I find usable. |

The P800 is a business phone and canplay stereo Mp3s - it just seems very baisc not to include soemthing like that - most popular doesnt always mean best.

But this phone will be about £200 cheaper, have a 65,000 colour display, and it's about the same size as a 7250.

Its an ace phone. Its a "smartphone" not a PDA!
The T610 must be a very shit phone as well, as that does come with an MP3 Player program, you have to get third party software. and many other phones....... |

So let me get this right, you originaly post Quote:

Then you come on here later on in the conversation and say Quote:
T610i is a standard phone, not a smartphone so is not designed to have a MP3 player in it
As you said in your first post, Quote:
as usual Sony Ericsson's technology sucks. The T610i doesn't come with an mp3 player
Bit of advice Jammers, better to be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt

Sorry to jump in here and spoil your fun, but I think you will find that the "nokia's technology sucks" comment was refering to their "half baked bluetooth" with which I am inclined to agree with.
SE T610's bluetooth on the other hand is wicked so i think your comment about being thought a fool may come into play for your post Also, I am inclined to agree that Nokia do, or at least ARE BEGINNING TO suck. They have rested on their laurels and said "yeah we are the best so everyone else will have to do what we do" Meantime, SE have snook up on the inside, formed a wicked alliance, brought out the P800 and the T610, brought them out packed with features and at sensible prices that people won't be able to resist. You only need to look at Nokia's complete disregard for Bluettoth which led to myself giving up on Nokia and switching to SE. They were the best, but not anymoe, hence them now attempting to catch up with SE's bluetooth bonanza!!! |

Thank you GK for reading my post unlike the previous poster who didnt. Bluetooth by Nokia is poor and the 6600, a smartphone, has poor features compared with other smartphones, who it is designed to compete with.
John, whos the fool? |

No, the Nokia has poor features compared to its competitors. Nokia is the fool as eventually people who think their 3330's etc are good phones will realise.

Of course, this would all have repercussions on the size of the thing... And PreZiCion: the T610 has a Java interpreter, and can run games designed for the Mophun platform (which I think is exclusive to SE). I have only seen games available, although I guess it's possible to use it to run other applications. |

I read in Stuff magazine that you can buy a programme for $10 that will act as a remote mp3 / computer controller for Apple computers (bluetooth equipped).
They had a pic of the T610 by it so i presume they meant it works with it. |

There is another application called Romeo (which is free) that publishes menus onto your phone (under the accessories menu) that allow you to control a host of things as standard using Applescript over Bluetooth - it comes with menus for Apps like Keynote, Powerpoint, iTunes, Apple DVD Player, the OS itself (things like mute, minimize, sleep etc) and Safari. It also has a mouse control mode that allows you to use the phone joystick-thingy to control the mouse. I'm currently using Romeo on my iBook with my T68i and it works really quite well although I've found it to be quite buggy at times - seems to have problems if other apps are open that want to communicate with a Bluetooth device. |

Was that this month's stuff? The one with the legal mp3 stuff on the front?
PC Control from christersson.org can control you PC via bluetooth from your t68i/t610, very similar to Romeo mentioned above. |

That Clicker thing (and PC Control for Windows) makes use of a feature of SonyEricsson (and in fact, most Ericsson phones before that) which add-ons (like the camera, MP3 player etc) use to add menus to the phone software, to control the peripheral.
That's why it doesn't work on any other make of phone, or indeed on the P800. I suppose it's possible to do the same thing with java for other makes of phone, assuming the Java implementation can talk to the phones Bluetooth subsystem (which might not be allowed for security). |

I have a Sony Ericsson T300 which comes with a handy little camera. who needs a god damned mp3 player on their mobile anyway i already have a separate 128 mb mp3 player. An mp3 player on a mobile is waste of phone memory for other stuff like games lol.
By the way if your looking for a nokia with mp3 player then go for the 3300. |
