Sums up most modern indie music, really.

Unfortunately, have to agree. I really like some indie music but there is a lot of crap coming out nowadays which is giving the genre a bad name (Scouting For Girls, The Kooks and Razorlight being the main offenders IMO)...

That's exactly the problem. Indie music is decent and the scene is (well, was) pretty good.

It became infested with all this middle-of-the-road garbage where everyone wears skinny ties with tight jeans and pointy shoes, singing about things that have been sung about 5billion times already.

I wouldn't really consider bands like Scouting For Girls as true indie, though. More like guitar-pop.

There are still loads of decent proper indie bands around.

I brought 'Scouting for Girls' album on Sunday and I haven't the chance to listen to the album, but I did managed to listen to 'She's So Lovely' and 'Elvis Ain't Dead'.

Oh God! I love them in their own little way and have their album, but my god I couldn't listen to it the whole way as they are way to sugary and frankly some of it is shite, but I wish them well, and I love She's So Lovely

I've heard quite a bit of the album (just about to listen to the whole thing) and I like it. It's not hugely innovative but it's catchy, harmless, fun, pop music.

I couldn't care less if a band was true [whatever] so long as I enjoy their music, I'll listen.

I never said there was anything wrong with pop music.
