How do they know if you have bought from CPW or not, as you connect to the tariff through iTunes?

Actually they do, and according to the O2 site Carphone Warehouse customers can't take the new bolt ons for the iPhone tarriffs.

(Carphone Warehouse get a kickback from the tarriff itself as a selling agent, and I assume this is all O2 has been able to renegotiate).

Phazer
i simply do not believe that those who bought their iphones from cpw have any different tariff contract from those who bought from apple or o2 (all users agree to the same terms on itunes). the bolt ons are not available until tomorrow for all iphone users. no doubt cpw have simply not yet updated their website; certainly they are showing the old tariffs whereas o2 are showing the new ones.

I'm on the £45 tarriff and i'm downgrading to the £35 one.

Just done it through the website.

Good to see O2 being pro-active, makes a nice change for a company to look after their existing customers as well as their new ones!

Stroke of luck. I was planning to call O2 today to upgrade to £45 plan.
