USBB4 - Subforum?
Neil Wilkes
10-07-2003
All,

As some of you are already watching this show, and no doubt as most will be before the month is out, it may be best to have a separate subforum, so the discussion doesn't interfere with that of the UK series (plural).

I'm leaning towards setting up a separate subforum for the show, but I'd be interested in getting everyone's opinions first.

Either way, as an extra point, the following rule will apply to discussion of BB4US on DS:

After July 26, any threads discussing of events which haven't aired yet in the UK (i.e. people watching the live web feeds or the US show before it airs here) must have the word SPOILER at the start of the thread title, and, obviously, not give away the spoiler in the thread title. This is because the vast majority of readers and posters will be watching the UK-delayed version of events; otherwise it would spoil enjoyement for them.

Thanks

The subforum sounds like a good idea, especially with the UK show in full flow - the BB US posts tend to get lost with the volume of posts about our show.

The spoiler thing sounds a good idea too. Even now some people are watching the online feeds, while others (like me) are downloading the highlights episodes and only watching those. So I'm trying to avoid hearing what's happening live to avoid hearing nominations etc.

When it starts on E4 it could become more problematic - people watching the live feeds online, watching the delayed live feeds on E4, downloading the highlights ep. or watching the highlights ep. on E4.

Perhaps the threads titles could include additional info so we know what topics are being discussed, along the lines of - "Online live feeds discussion" - "Highlights programme discussion" - "E4 delayed feeds discussion" etc. That way it should lessen confusion.

Having a USBB sub forum is a great idea.

Are you also considering having reporters for USBB too? Or would that involve far too much work?

Neil, I think that is a superb idea.

That's just what us BB US followers needed, as all the other forums about it are full of Americans who spoil everything because they see the episodes before we do.

I agree, any DS:BB:US posts just go furthur and furthur down the list! Subforum is a great idea

Great idea! Good to see some dedicated US coverage on DS:BB as well.

I also think it's a good idea

With all the coverage it will get I think a lot of people will switch when our BB finishes and it will avoid confusion if the two are on seperate forums

i'm easily confused

It sounds a good idea to me I too get easily confused, and am particularly in favour of the 'Spoiler' idea.

Well i must say I was delighted to find that there was a DS site for USBB4 - I wasn't expecting it - so thank you first of all for that.

Secondly I think a seperate forum is an exellent idea as it will avoid confusion over which thread apertains to which programme.

Good news all round

Excellent idea.

Regarding the spoilers i would think E4 will run on a 16hr delay so to sync everything up on the clock, lthough that would mean each tv show going out at 5pm (2 out of 3) so i dont know how they will work that out.
