seriously considering a VoIP system at home. Am currently with BT for phoneline (50 quid a quarter) and sky for my broadband (tenner a month). Can get out of either or both as past 12 months with both of them. Definatly want rid of BT as they have been a thorn in my backside ever since we had them. not in a cabled area so that is out the question. Where would you guys in the know suggest to look for a decent starting block for VoIP? ie, who would you recommend for my line rental and/or broadband so that i can then run VoIP?

sorry if this sounds ammatuerish, but im new to all of this phone over the web thing, still getting my head round not having to pay BT!!

many thanks in advance

If you're not in a cabled area then you're going to need to keep your BT line to get ADSL Internet access.

There are a few CPS providers that will give you free evening and weekend calls on your line.

Download a soft VOIP service like voipcheap and make free calls during the day from your PC.

I use BT for line rental (£32.25 a qtr), Primus for evening and weekend calls (Free), Sky Mid Broadband (£5 a month), and Voipcheap.com for daytime VOIP calls (Free).
