The many decades of success that someone like Michael Parkinson has enjoyed is largely down to being generous and understanding towards both the mighty and the humble even handedly. Such people are the mainstays of entertainment, bringing pleasure to all, not an "elitist target demographic"

OMG ludovica is turning into Julyan!

This sounds like sour grapes to me, perhaps Julyan favours the old 'closed shop' practises of the past, where you can only do a job if you went to 'this' school got 'that' qualification and served your time as a tea boy/girl until you were 45! A much more diverse practice is better, where the public get who they want, and sadly sometimes who they deserve!

As for his take on Camerons performance in the house, it sound very much like damage limitation!

The professional and dignified stance for this 'BAFTA award-winning TV presenter' to have taken would have been not to comment on his brother's activities, whether in a biased manner or not.

Rather like the Jewish supporters that tried to pull votes for Justine on the strength of her (unpracticed) birthfaith, articles, such as those he has penned about his brother, are desperate and trashy. This particular piece reads as though he has realised this and is badmouthing the show in an attempt to distance himself.

Such as, ohh, Lisa? Or Jon when he left the house? I suppose it chimes with what he is saying (that he isn't himself in the house), but I think the cloak of bitchiness fits Cameron too comfortably to be a recent acquisition.

Seems a bit of a strange diatribe against alternate routes into television presenting - you need a certain cachet to present, and good looks (male and female). Or at least distinctive and inoffensive looks. Cachet can be earned - e.g. drama school - or it can be chanced upon - e.g. reality TV. Good looks you really need to be born with. (Anyone who doubts this please explain "TV Weathergirls" with an alternative theory). Seems rather churlish to complain about others taking their chances with both hands just because they have gone by a different route.

It will provide some solace too it Cameron wins a TV career from this, as at least it will considerably annoy his brother. Not as much as Mr Tickle getting a TV career would, but its a start.
