N95 wiping predictive text dictionary
ooops
31-01-2008
Hey Guys,
I would genuinely say that my GSM N95 has been the best phone that I have ever owned.

HOWEVER... (here it comes lol)

Over the past couple of weeks, it has wiped the predictive text dictionary twice.
The first time I put down to downloading a dodgy app that froze the handset but today it has happened for no apparent reason.

Also, people have not been receiving certain texts I send.
Is that network or handset related?

Many thanks in advance,

Wow.

Funny you should mention it, my dictionary got deleted around 2 weeks ago for no apparent reason.

It's never been a problem and i've had the handset since May, it's the most annoying thing trying to rebuild it.

Not had any other problems though.

What firmware are you running?

i thought the reason it forgot words was because it only could hold say 99 new words and if you put in 100 it would have to lose one. thats what i thought happened?

I hate it when it adds useless things that you then can't get rid of.

Somehow, it's on my N95 because it,s - which I had to change manually each time.

Oh and I once set a message referring to a weekly music magazine. For some reason it added my new word as the first guess for those keys. How many times will I type nme compared to one ?!?

I did a firmware upgrade a couple of weeks ago, and my predicitve text has completely vanished now, so I have to type messages out fully.

No idea why it happened and I cant seem to turn it back on.

Do you mean the menu option isn't there? Or selecting it doesn't work?
