She's either racing to renegotiate her current deal with Def Jam or they are milking her marginally talented self for all they can before the masses realize that she isn't that great IMO.

She gets her albums out so fast! Must be the result of not doing any songwriting, I bet she's hardly involved at all. They'll just throw good songs at her to record and quickly rush to get them released.

I would hardly call 1 album every 12 months fast.

You Go Rihanna! Dont let the negativity get you down!

At the end of the day I just dont get why having songs written for artists is a bad thing. Is it better for Rihanna to write her own stuff and for it to be awful, or anyone for that matter, or would it be better for writers to do it, and then her to perform it and enable me to drunkenly make a tit out of myself when I go out? The latter, suprisingly.

If my memory serves correct, there was a less than 6 month gap between her first and second album. Then she released her third album about 8 months later.

So even if she releases the new record in November (as has been rumoured), it'll still feel like overkill because she races though singles and albums so quickly. IMO she's not an artist with much longetivity.

Lets not kid ourselves- in her short career she has built quite a reputation for knocking out albums very quickly.

I wouldn't diss her for it though - Good Girl Gone Bad is fantastic.

I think its quite refreshing in a way, especially as Rihanna's music is pretty good for what it is: disposable pop (not to be too harsh). She's more like a pop artist from the 60s and 70s who released material almost constantly; in those days they produced and recorded singles independent of albums, as well albums on their own. Rihanna hasn't gone that far, but there a lot of people I like (Amy Winehouse, The Zutons) who take about 3 years to come out with new albums. Once again, however, I suppose Rihanna's music is of an accessible quality and is easier to turn turnaround quickly.

I would. most people dont buy the album until at least two singles have been released from it. I think artists can be greedy like this, there are many people who would have just bought the Good Girl Gone Bad album and now shes planning another one.

And dont even get me started with Beyonce, how many deluxe editions has she released.
