Working Setanta now "not running or scrambled"
Zack
01-02-2008
Setanta was working fine earlier (and has done since I activated it first of all) but now it just says "Service not running or scrambled!" even though I have not modified anything on my box since it was done. Have turned it off and on and rescanned while on C5 and it still says it.

In the Common Interface menu it seems to be active still. When I go to Consultation there are 5 options (TopUpTV 1-5)

TopUpTV1 "0 from 01/01/1990 to 24/03/2008"
TopUpTV2 "0 from 01/01/1990 to 01/01/1991"
TopUpTV3 "0 from 01/01/1990 to 01/01/1992"
TopUpTV4 "0 from 01/01/1990 to 01/01/1991"
TopUpTV5 "0 from 01/01/1990 to 01/01/1991"

I would guess it's the first one that Setanta needs, and the 24/03 is a long way off so why does it suddenly stop working now Guess I need to get a new activation signal again , will this happen automatically or do I need to phone up and get them to send me one again?

It may pick it up on its own - depends how often they send the signals out. On the other hand, it won't do it any harm to have another one sent.

I ditched my original TUTV subscription when I realised I hadn't watched anything for so long that I'd not even tuned the box to the right mux, and I'd missed my monthly acitvation signal.

What CAM are you using? I don't have a 'Consultation' option on mine, and only ever had the one subs date.

signals are sent monthly, but would adv call and ask them to resend.

I'm using a ASTON CAM, the date in TopUpTV1 now says to 03/04/2008 but it still doesn't work, don't think it's signal problems as although my signal for Setanta is poor (well glitches at times but fine otherwise) I have never been able to not get it at all.

The weather seems ok though (well nothing worse than what we have had for the last few months), still not working so will phone them tomorrow, want to watch football at 12, hope they open at 10 and send it them!

When they say watch C5 while we send the signal, can I watch something else and record C5 (as that would still be receiving it) or do I actually need to watch what is on C5 at the time for it to work properly? (I hope not!:yawn

Edit: The signal looks fine, on the display when I change to 34, the top bar is 3/4 full and the bottom bar nearly full. Is there anyway I can activate online? The way I found doesn't work as it's been activated once, don't really want to be on the phone to Setanta for hours tomorrow (no doubt it will take longer because it's Sunday and probably have even less people answering the phone)

Have you tried, taking the card out, giving it a gentle wipe, and reinserting it?
Or have you removed the CAM,and then reinserting it?

Yep, just did it again and still won't work
