Computer speakers

Just wondering if anyone would have any idea on whats wrong with my computer speakers? Suddenly they've gone all fuzzy and my sound is muffled and crackly. They were working fine today. I have no idea why this might be...anyone got a clue?

first thing to always try is the cable, make sure it hasnt just come lose where its plugged into the back of the PC.

Could be numerous of reasons.
As a test just try plugging in some ear phones usualy to the sound card, if its all crackley and fuzzy through those then that would narrow down where the fault might be

if the problem persitsts through all forms of speakers the next thing you might want to try is to update your drivers or restore a previous one or reinstall the current one. if any of those dont work, then in my opinion its a hardware problem, make sure all the connections and contacts are connected and contacting. if probs still persist i rekon the card is stuffed.

Dear Saxton,

People often don't change the obvious things.

I remember a secretary at work who complained that her computer didn't power up. When the IT people asked whether it was plugged in, she said yes.

It transpired that it was, but the extension lead wasn't plugged into the wall socket.

I have a quick question about computer speakers. I am looking at getting a new set of them and I am stuck between two different types. The Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 Check em out
and the Logitech Z-680 Check em out I like the fact that the Logitech's have optical in, and they can deal with DTS, but I have always used the Klipsch and have loved their sound. I am not scared to switch over, but I just don't want to give up a good thing, If anyone has suggestions, or can help me make my decision that would be great!

Thank you!
Girt
