Sky Talk

Sorry if this is the worng forum but I cannot see one for Sky Talk.

When we call my Virgin Mobile from our BT landline using Sky Talk, we get a announcement saying something like "You don't have enough credit to call".

If I call my mobile with the 1280 prefix it works as normal.

Anyone else having these problems?

To get OT Could this be causing our multiroom callbacks to fail?

Do you have any restrictions on outgoing calls or a pre pay account?

Sky Talk and BT are both very expensive ways to call mobiles.

I'd suggest you use 18185 instead.

...or forget Sky Talk and CPS to Primus Saver 2 and add on Penny Mobile both with no monthly charge,

Saver 2 gives you inclusive evening and weekend calls to UK landlines for 90 mins, daytime rates don't start until 08:00 so more 'free time'. No connection charge on chargeable calls. Penny mobile then gives you calls to UK mobiles for 20p for up to 20 mins.

Also use 18185 for other calls or when it works out cheaper for mobiles etc.

I have the fully Sky package TV/PHONE/BB but have the basic package for the phone (free evening/weekend calls) I use 18185 for all my daytime calls and calls back to Malaysia which only cost 1ppm and just use Sky Talk in the no charge period. Just wish I could find a way around the 0845/0870 prefixes which ever increasing number of companies, particularly 'services' outfits like Sky and the Energy companies seem to be switiching to, presumably to get a rake off.

For 0845 / 0870 /0871 / 0844 numbers you could look for the alternative, sometimes companies list a number for when calling outside the UK and this is usually a standard number, you could also check out www.saynoto0870.com to see if an alternative 01, 02, 03 or freephone number is listed.
