For me I can't see why Robyn has made such a popular resurgence, to me With Every Heartbeat is a climax that goes no-where and the rest of her singles have trod a well worn swedish path and are for more cheap pop/rnb than credible dance plus she has an odd face/image

The other one I just don't get is Hot Chip - I can understand why the broadsheet would like it but why has it seeped into the popular conciousness its not even good electro

I could just be alone in all my thoughts but I thought I would just ask

What stuff do you just not get?

Amy Wino's latter-day success- she had a couple of hits around 2001, but was off the scene until around 2006.

Also Leona Lewis

I agree completely about With Every Heartbeat- it just seemed such a dirge that went nowhere. I don't actually mind Robyn per se, I like a few of her songs, but that isn't one of them.

Mariah Carey is another- I can see she has a good voice (though it has seen better days, frankly), but everything she does either bores or irritates me- sometimes both at the same time.

The Feeling- well I do "get" them I suppose, but I don't understand why they get so much praise. I find them a bit dull, personally.

Although I don't have a problem with them, I'm a bit surprised at how successful Take That's recent comeback has been.

There are people I dislike and people I like... but to me that's not quite the same as "don't get". People I don't get (as in I just can't understand the music) are harder to identify but maybe someone like Kate Bush.

I don't dislike her or particularly like her either. I'm indifferent and can't make up my mind about her because I just don't get the music. It's a bit too weird and zany.

If you're simply talking about people who I dislike or hate and who I can't understand why anyone would like them... well I could, but I'd be here for hours!

Thirded.

Also:

No-One by Alicia Keyes. It sounds like the song got stuck at the chorus.

All this club stuff that has a million different albums dedicated to it at the moment. It all sounds the same.

Leon Jackson.

Enrique Iglesias.

Any indie band that are so dull even the NME won't stroke their egos.

All these new female 'singer/songwriters' becoming popular.

All this dreadful, middle-of-the-road indie music. Argh! The videos to the songs are always the same, too. Put a shirt on, pointy shoes, skinny tie and skinny jeans... add some good hair, a not-so-clean voice and clean guitars and you have an indie band.

Indie is on a par with R&B in my opinion. It started off being decent then everyone wanted a go and ruined it.

Its more to do with the popularity of the artist I guess rather then just don't like

I must say I do like a lot of people mentioned her already, but that's personal choice.!!

The people I don't get are:

Kate Nash - that stupid accent she sings in and that song about kissing is just c**p.
Robbie Williams - so overrated IMO
Westlife - say no more!
U2 lately - I love Sunday Bloody Sunday etc, this new stuff does nothing for me.

I totally agree with this. I very rarely listen to modern R&B unless I need something to send me to sleep, and every indie band that Radio One rave about sounds almost exactly the same. It's a real shame too because both R&B and the indie scenes produced some fantastic stuff in the past.
