If you do not take this payment from the customer, there is currently no charge to your store. However, from 1 February we will be checking compliance. If we fail to see improvement on this, charges will be cross-charged to stores who should have taken payment of the fee.
If your customer does not want to pay £15 charge to send their phone for repair, you can offer them two other options.”
care to elaborate as to what they are....
The 6 months thing is a bit arbitrary.
they are saying that they are less responcible after 6 months. if it is within a short period of time, (in this case evidently less than 6 months,)
the law regards the phone as having been supplied faulty.
the network is just acting as an agent for the manufacturer. you can just contact the manufacturer. Nokia for instance have 100's of repair centers around the country. you just take it in. it's free.
the law is not different for mobile phones than for other things. the networks can't change the law.
(oh and i think you need to shop around for a new courrier)
