TIR bug in version 21 ?
schustdj
03-02-2008
I scheduled a few items to record yesterday, but wanted to edit one. "Not available while recording" it said. Double checked nothing was recording.

Turned the machine on and off, instantaneous reponse to both ( no loading screens ) as used to occur when the "thinks its recording" bug used to be present. A reboot sorted it.

Didn't they fix this a long time ago ? I've only just updated to 21 from ver 6 where the bug was present so haven't tried any of the other versions.

BTW like many others, have turned off serries link, too many recordings starts missed ( Crystal Palace transmitter ).

It now goes into an "active standby" state about 15 mins before a scheduled recording.

I've just experienced this. Went to schedule a recording of Ashes to Ashes and when I switched the box on the epg was there immediately. No scheduled recordings in the list for today, so not in active standby.

I guess i'll have to power down when the recording is finished.

Q - If i power doen the box are all of my series link scedules lost?

No. You should lose nothing.

Power cycle worked OK, no schedules lost at all.

Does anyone know how the TIR bug is invoked so I can try and avoid it in the future?

Glenn.
