Is anyone else having problems where the series link for Harry Hill / Primeval don't update for the next week?

This has happened every week since both series started. It seems ITV1 don't load the series link data until the Thursday before and the box doesn't pick this up. So I am having to add the programmes every week due to their consistent schedule changes.

You will find that once ITV 'loads' the data on Thursday the SR timer will update accordingly... (But I would keep an eye on it just to be sure...)

That's the problem, it never updates. I still have to add again myself.

I had this too and noticed that on thursday those 2 programmes had series link but did not link up.
However I left them alone and they did update friday sometime.

I have Primeval set as a 'series timer' and mine, so far, has been updated each week, even though the series link data doesn't seem to be set until later in the week. No consolation, to you I know, but it does seem to work here (Waltham transmitter). Whether there are regional variations to how the EPG works, I don't know, but as there is region programming I guess that could be a problem sometimes, although I would have thought they occupy the same time space.

What I said is on the proviso that ITV ID them with the same SR IDs everytime... maybe they changed... but from what GONZO said, maybe you didn't wait long enough?

I had added "You've been framed" (I've got Kids OKAY!) Harry Hills TV Burp and Primeval as series linked recordings before last weekend, and they all recorded fine.

However on checking the recording schedule before this weekend, YBF was still there but the other two had vanished.

It was as if the box considered that the series had ended.

I've had several problems like this, all associated with ITV.

I've used series link with the BBC on many occasions and have yet to have any problems.

TV burp failed for me too last Friday.

Not surprising, since it's broadcast on Saturday. It failed on Saturday too!

Lenny Henry scheduled series linked recording schedule disapperared sometime tonight. It was there after 5.30pm but by 9pm it had disappeared!

SR data is now available for Harry Hill and Primeval... have your SR timers been updated?

No they haven't. Went to schedule recordings and they are still showing at the top with the date of the 2nd. Checked sat's listings and it says that they can be series linked. Wonder why the schedule hasn't updated.

Forgot to add. My series link for duel is fine, it's updated.

I decided to put the box into standby. Once the epg updated so had the schedule recordings. Will i have to put into standby to get the series link to work for there 2 show's?

Could be tomorrow before it updates...

Me again. Just did another check, when it updated it removed harry hill completly.

Same deal this week - sometime after the recording finished the scheduled recordings disappeared.

I've still yet to have any problem with a BBC series linked program so I'm guessing that ITV are messing up the metadata somehow.

I've just had something similar with Primeval and Thank God You're Here.

I've Emailed Humax Support with the following details - perhaps if they investigate and find it is the ITV1 metadata causing the problem they can put pressure on ITV1 to get their metadata in order:

I have been using Accurate Recording and Series Link on Version 1.00.21 since 14/1/2008 and have hit my first real problem - 2 TV programmes have disappeared from the Scheduled Recordings list having successfully recorded. They are Primeval and Thank God You're Here. Here are the details:

Among the many recordings in the list (I had about 23, 21 are AR/SL, and the other two are weekly timers for non-SL programmes) I always have the following programmes set for Saturdays (the times vary, the times shown are for Sat 9/2/2008):

1700 - 1800 BBC News 24 (weekly timer as this programme has no Series Link metadata).
1850 - 1920 ITV1 Harry Hill's TV Burp (AR/SL).
1920 - 2020 ITV1 Primeval (AR/SL).
2150 - 2240 ITV1 Thank God Your'e Here (AR/SL).

I've not had any problems with these programmes each week - until this weekend just gone. Normally, when checking the schedule after the programmes have been broadcast, the date and time still stay the same in the list until Thursday/Friday the following week when ITV1 get round to flagging the coming weekend's editions as Series Linked. However, having checked the schedule this Sunday (10/2/2008), I found that Harry Hill is in the schedule still with Saturday's date (9/2/2008) but Primeval and Thank God You're Here have vanished.

The time scale of my actions on Saturday was as follows:

1730 I brought the machine out of "standby". It was in "semi-standby" as it was recording BBC News 24. The box was also tuned to BBC News 24 for viewing.
1731 I selected BBC News 24 from the Recorded Programmes list (to view the main news broadcast at 17:00).
1805 I finished viewing the recorded news. Box left on BBC News 24.
1830 I selected another previously recorded programme to view (recorded the previous day). I used "ad skip" used to skip over adverts in the programme.
1930 I selected Harry Hill's TV Burp to view as it had finished about 10 minutes previously. I used "ad skip" used to skip over adverts in the programme.
2000 I selected another recorded programme to view (recorded the previous day).
2030 I selected Primeval to view as it had finished about 10 minutes previously. I used "ad skip" used to skip over adverts in the programme.
2130 I selected another recorded programme to view (recorded the previous day).
2230 I put the box into standby (while it was still recording Thank God You're Here).

I use the Crystal Palace muxes for the Humax. Signal strength is 69%, signal quality is 100%.

the series link data for primeval has just appeared but last weeks episode is still stuck at the top of the schedule. How or when does the hummy check that another episode in a series is available for recording

This is an ITV problem and not a Hummy fault.
If they dont provide the correct data then the Hummy will not pick it up.

I understand, but the question still stands, when or how does the hummy detect the next episode is available

My two - Harry Hill and Primeval SR timers have updated OK:

16/02 18:45-19:15 Harry Hill's TV Burp
16/02 19:15-20:15 Primeval

I am 'local' having STV here... I don't know about anyone else's location...

The hummy detects the next episode as soon as it shows in the EPG providing the broadcaster has given it the correct data for the hummy to detect.

Primeval has updated itself in the schedule overnight so panic over but as this was several hours after the series link data was available for this weeks episode I would still like to know when the hummy decides to check and update.

P.S the wife loves series link her programmes tend to move a lot, time wise, and apart from a few seconds missing from the front of a couple of programmes on time recording and series link gets a thumbs up from me as well.
