RED-FACED X Factor judge Louis Walsh has been booted off a TV show – for the second time in a year.

The Irish music guru was given a guest role in a new ITV drama called Rock Rivals.

But his appearance ended up on the cutting room floor after bosses said it was nowhere near what they wanted.

And it is not the first time Louis has found himself being treated like one of his own X Factor flops.

He was famously fired as a judge on the telly talent show last year by X Factor supremo Simon Cowell, 48 – only to be reinstated later.

A pal said last night: “Poor Louis. He’s suffered the embarrassment of being axed, not once but twice, within the space of a year.

“First he gets sacked from The X Factor. Now he’s been axed from Rock Rivals. Producers said it was not what they had expected from a man like Louis. I bet his old foe Simon is sniggering.”

However, Louis, 55, put on a brave face over his latest telly disappointment. He said of his vanishing act: “It was probably because my performance outshone the rest of the cast.”

Rock Rivals is a fictional saga loosely based on talent shows such as The X Factor and Pop Idol.

It has been made by the team behind Footballers’ Wives and Bad Girls and is due to hit our telly screens at the end of the month. The show stars former Coronation Street star Sean Gallagher, 40, and ex-EastEnder Michelle Collins, 44, as warring husband-and-wife telly judges Mal and Karina Faith.

The pair love to bitch and gripe about one another – just like X Factor panellists Louis, Simon, Sharon Osbourne, 55, and Dannii Minogue, 36.

And the show should be pretty true to life. Telly’s “Mr Nasty” Cowell had talks with the producers to give them some behind-the-scenes tips.

Rock Rivals will also feature a special twist to get viewers involved in the action. They will be able to vote for their favourites among the acts featured – just like in The X Factor.

I wonder what will happen to the winner of the phone vote now? Weren't they meant to be real singers that would get a record deal with Syco Music? But since Simon Cowell quit the show I can't see that happening now.

From the Sun -for what it's worth -
Simon may have some involvement after all.
Producer Brian Park says the music mogul may release the final song, just as he does with The X Factor.
