Harmony Remote and Panasonic TV Power-on Problem
Hi - I have been trying to set up our first-ever universal remote - the Harmony Logitech 555. I could not even get it to power-on our (admittedly elderly) Panasonic TV - a TX-25MD4. The Logitech level 2 support team in Canada have identified and fixed the problem - my TV needs a different command chain to that in the Harmony database.
The reason for this note is 2-fold. First to alert any other potential users to the problem. Secondly, to ask that any users of TX-xxMD4 TVs that have had this problem request Logitech Support to raise an alert with their database team. They will only change a database entry if multiple alerts are raised. Without a database update, the fix is applied to the power settings in the user's Logon ID, which means that if the user inadvertently changes any power settings or wants to set up a different Logon, Logitech Support have to recode. Which - to put it mildly - is hardly a robust fix to a very basic problem! best wishes - Roy |
