i'm eating a tesco chicken korma.

Not very exciting i know, but it is completely tasteless.Even putting some mango chutney on isnt helping it.Its like eating cardboard in a bland grey sauce with some rice - even the rice doesnt tast of much.

What have you tried to eat which was dissapointing?

I make my own food. That way I know what goes into it and i don't get any unpleasant surprises!

Why buy store brought muck when you can make your own for the price of a small aubergine?

Well what do you expect when you buy ready meals! The supermarkets charge a fortune for what is bland, tasteless rubbish.

Make your own!!!

A treat for me would be going to a nice restaurant! A ready-meal is more like a nightmare!

Home cooked all the way.

This pre packed rubbish is so bland and boring because it is there to be "seasoned" by the individual. You could guarantee if they added salt and pepper people would moan....

For the price of a "Finest" curry (£5?) you could make your own which would taste so much better.

PS: Dunno why i chose curry (I hate it) and i am just guessing it is £5 as Finest seems to be expensive, yet still taste "dull".

Watermelon. Looks all juicy and appetising, then when you bite it it's like cotton wool soaked in water. With loads of really irritating pips.

Asparagus, maybe okay but far too expensive and completely over-rated.

Baby sweetcorn is far better value for the money and tastes better.

If you are home and if you can stand the sight of Ainsley Harriott for half an hour 'Ready Steady Cook' has some good ideas for meals in 20 minutes or so. They aren't that difficult to follow either. In fact, there are so many cooking shows, recipies on the internet etc, that there is definitely something more appealing out there than a Tesco chicken korma.

Another Goodness Gracious Me fan! Pity no-one else got the joke.

Don't forget it is on BBC4 tonight at 9 O'clock.

The OP should have asked Uncle, you don't want to pay for a Tesco Korma, Uncle knows a man ...

Talking of bland food i have just eaten some of Tesco's Finest "Chocolate Indulgence Cake" and i can tell you there is nothing "Indulgence" about it.

Hard, bland, and boring. OK, it is only £1.80 but still... For "Finest" it is crap*.

*It does look very posh though.

I was thinking it might be about Goodness Gracious Me, but I wasn't sure!

If you read the ingredients they are pretty ghastly too.

I don't know how supermarkets can call certain products as "finest" when it is full of nasty chemicals.

I know when I make a cake I do not put such things in!

I shall investigate later

I can also guarantee that a homemade cake will probably not have 1600 calories in it! These cakes are only 5inch by 5inch big... So fattening.

Butterkist.

I had some at the weekend while at the cinema. It was a bit sticky though. Hadn't had it for years.

Marks and Spencer were advertising some sort of Sausage thing a few months ago and my mum fancied trying it along with the Apple Pie advertised at the same time. Complete waste of money.
