Drew Peacock - think we're both right!! I always watch the Eurosport coverage with Nicky; forgot that Robin did commentary on the BBC.

Though the French couples injury meant John and Sinead got a medal, they would have otherwise have finished 4th which is still a great improvement on last year.

Can they hope to get higher do you think? Or could they be one of those couples who are now going to have to work hard to keep that spot? I really like them, but not qualified to be able to judge their potential.

The Kerrs are good but my dream guests on DOI would be Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat!

I forgot that the reigning champions Domnina and Shabalin also withdrew due to injury so the Kerrs only really moved up one place overtaking the second French pair. It's a very similar situation to Nicky Barber and Karen Slater who got their only bronze medal because Torvill and Dean were absent due to injury.

With the Olympics next year you would think it would be make or break for them but I think it would be incredible, (but unlikely) if they were to medal there as at present, once you add in the Americans and Canadians (remember Virtue and Moir who are almost 10 years younger than the Kerrs) there are 6 or 7 couples ahead of them.

He got a very high score for his short programme, so he had more points in the bag to carry over to the free!
He's my favourite!

Did anyone else think that some of the choices of costume were bizzare
Peirrot outfit whilst skating to Moonlight sonata
A green net fairy dress whilst skating to a "swing" themed routine.
The Man dressed like shrek whilst skating to a selection of music from Jesus Christ superstar

Me too - they were absolutely brilliant . Actually I usually rate the french skaters, they seem to bring a real sense of theatre to the ice rink.

Oh me too I used to love it when they were competing! I like the Kerrs, was so pleased for them at Europeans; however my favourites are definitely Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir atm, they just skate so beautifully together, hoping they do well at World Championships in March

I have to admit the Pierrot costume made me go "what?!!"

LOVED the Kerrs! Am so pleased they chose Muse as well - I've been waiting for someone to skate to them for ages! It's the rare bit of contemporary music that has classical, skateable flavour

Agree tho', I think they're deserving but I don't see them medalling in Worlds unless there's some spectacular imbalance in the rankings. Looking forward to Virtue and Moir too - ice-dancing's really on the up, whereas I'm finding all the other skating a bit lacking at the mo'.

I sure miss having Eurosport and Nicky and Chris' fab commentry. Robin is the most boring commentator on the planet.

I hadn't realised Stephane Lambiel had retired <sob>. (Or Jeffrey Buttle for that matter.) Disappointed in Joubert - even if it was perfect there's nothing that distinguished his Matrix programme from anyone else's. Everyone's turned into such a Yagudin/Plushenko clone. Then again I'm not sure that gold should be won by a gun-toting cowboy programme either, lol.

I heard Nicky Slater say that Jeffrey Buttle has turned professional and is now appearing in shows!

Well done to The Kerrs. They really deserved their medal and hopefully there's even better to come over the next few years.

I must say the rather gorgeous Samuel Contesti was my highlight for last week. The new "British" pairs skaters were rather promising too. I was most disappointed with the solo/pairs events apart from that.

Shame on BBC for not showing any of it live and I'm yet to hear the BBC, ITV or Sky say that the Kerrs won a bronze medal for the UK in any sports reports since the end of last week. I suppose they have to win gold before it becomes a headline.

To the Kerrs: Much better music and outfits this year.

I looked through all the teletext pages and there wasn't a mention of the Kerr's winning the bronze medal, not even on the sports pages!
