W580i - Locked To Orange Advice
Hello,
Well i know have some funds to get this phone, but i am on t-mobile and the one i want in Black for £100 is locked to orange. Now if i get this, Will it orange themes all over and not able to change them as much as phones from other networks. I know orange do the branding quite a lot, Also the home screen is worrying me, but on my friends SE it can be turned off. So my next step is. I am not on orange and i dont expect that a market man will be able to unlock these yet (?) My friend is on orange, she has been with them for a couple of years now. Is there a way i can request it from orange through her Orange sim card or does it have to be in the phone for x amount of days. I would like to get the unbranded version, but im not sure if i can afford the extra £40 at this moment. Thanks |

As far as I know you are going to have to pay for the unlocking and debrand the phone. So its probably just better to wait and buy the SIM free version.

I just had a W580i unlocked and debranded - it cost me £15 but that was from a local independent place.
Your friend won't be able to get that phone unlocked on her contract as that is not the phone we will have listed as her using. You could purchase a PAYG Sim Card but Orange would ask you to wait 3 months and then charge you £20 to unlock it. If you know someone local who can do it, ask them it is always cheaper and easier. |
