Hi

I have just purchased the N95 on o2.

If I want to use the satnav, will I have to pay to view the maps? Some people have mendtioned download free software but how do I do that!!

I know that with Vodafone you got free internet but you dont seem to get this with o2?

Sorry for being clueless! I hope I have made the right choice in buying this phone!

If you have not pre-installed the UK maps, you will incurr a data charge. When I bought my N95 from o2, the 1Gb card that came with it had the maps pre-installed.

Use Nokia Maploader if you are not sure...

Riiiiight.

I think O2 install all the maps for you on the phone, if not, you can download the Map Loader as mentioned above to load them on. They can be downloaded 'as you go' incurring data charges, but obivously if O2 have loaded them on, or you have done with the Maploader, you won't need to do this.

As for data, O2 offer a data bolt on, giving you 250Mb for £7.50 pm. I've got this, and haven't come close to hitting it, and bear in mind I use YouTube, and a lot of web browsing, thats pretty good!

Thanks for your replies.

Can I just ask how you are getting on with the N95. I am still not sure whether to cancel it and get the Nokia 6500 Slide or the n81. If I get the data bolt on, its going to increase my monthly charge to £42!.

You have to pay for the voice guidance (via Nokia) but if you have already installed the maps you need for your journey then you will not have to pay for the data.
