New Samsung touch screen phone

Is it as good or better than the iphone or viewty. My contract is up next month and like the idea of a touch screen phone for ease of use and by the look of things great media.

It's the F490 phone (sounds like a Ferrari model)

It's been on GSMArena for a while:

Well, from our brief experience with the Samsung F490 we are almost sure that this fashionable handset will turn out to be a market success.

The F490 may seem as a bit of an underdog when compared to the LG Viewty. The LG Viewty has better video recording capabilities and DivX video playback. It's also got a larger battery and FM radio.

And yet, the Samsung F490 offers a great user interface and has all the haute couture style that the LG Viewty lacks. We are looking forward to spending more quality time with the F490 in the week to come so stay tuned for our full-featured review.

It looks to be about the same as the Viewty; better camera than the iphone but I'm guessing a worse music player.

You'll probably have to wait until it's reviewed; the interface on these phones are a big part and until you can see it it's hard to tell - different phones suit different people.
