I see Shane Ward is now doing travelogues for GMTV - it was a Med cruise this morning. Hints of desperation for a flagging and sagging career methinks

This is quite strong... Shayne isn't as successful as Leona, but Breathless went to #2.

I'm not particularly a fan of Shayne but I don't think it's stooping low to do a travel section on gmtv, after all who would turn down a free holiday?

I think he's career is doing just fine, and I'm not a fan of his, but it seems to me his got a pretty solid career at the moment. Think your reading rather a lot in to very little.

Totally agree mita. They use him because they think that he will be a draw, which is why they didn't ask me

I agree with the majority here. I don't see it as a bad sign at all - I think they chose him as someone who appeals to young people and women generally.

Accept some of those points - but isn't GMTV rather "low rent" for any musician wanting some credibility - or is it ALL about the bank balance?

Shayne is doing fine. His singles and album have sold extremely well this year.

Yes, his last two singles were the highest new entries!

And? That's not really the point, if he is serious about his music, then why GMTV travelogues which are basically adverts - can't remember Coldplay, Radiohead, Amy Winehouse or any other credible musician doing so. Not even Westlife have sunk to that level (or have they?!)

And i don't know about anyone else, but the guy looks sexier every time i see him, a career as a model awaits if the singing goes down the pan not that it should as his recent singles have been good

I thought he had a tour to promote or is that my imagination??

Also does anyone know who his management company is these days as Global Talent seem to have disappeared since they lost G4?

I remember a few years back Elton John did an advert for teh Post Office too! And I would certainly call him a credible musician!

Exactly, it's all about how you look at it, there's no harm in people doing ads or slots of GMTV or whatever they damn well please. It certianly doesn't mean it's a sign of desperation.

Would you turn down a paid for holiday to somewhere like that, and get paid for it to present about 3 links? If you would then you might need your head testing

I wouldn't class myself as a Shayne fan but to say his career is flagging is ridiculous.

I actually think it's quite a coup for GMTV to have got him.

How about all the megastars who have done adverts for the likes of Pepsi?

When I was in Italy a few years back, I was amazed to find many stores had a cardboard cutout of Kevin Costner endorsing a brand of chino's....and at the time he was still at the peek of his career.

What's the 'And?' for . My comment speaks for itself. It IS really the point and is in response to your comment:

Hints of desperation for a flagging and sagging career methinks
The singles I referred to weren't that long ago and prove that his career isn't flagging and sagging.

I can't stand the guy's voice. It makes me ears bleed every time , especially with that incessant screeching in his last song. Ugh!

But I don't think that he's desperate to do something like this. Coming on Celeb BB or I'm a celebrity get me out of here would be desperate , this is quite normal I guess.
