What food have you never tried?
I realised when I was reading the Ideas for Dinner thread that I have never had corned beef hash. I don't know why I haven't, I haven't avoided eating it or anything. It was never cooked for me when I was a kid so it's not something that I grew up wanting and therefore never learned how to cook.
Am I missing anything by not having it? What foods have you never tried for whatever reason? |

Ooh yes you are missing out! Its one of my favourite meals, and I don't really like meat usually....though, I used to have it regularly as a kid.
I've never tried sushi, and don't have any desire to....I like nice homely warm foods, and that looks the opposite! |

Sushi - ditto. I have never tried a kebab. They look so disgusting *large lady thighs* and smell like death. |

I've never tried cockles, mussels, squid, sushi, or scallops.... they just look horrible & I can't bring myself to try any of them....mind you, having watched Masterchef, the wannabe chefs seem to always be cooking the latter....I wouldn't know what to do with any of the above tho cookwise

Oysters. They look rank and when eaten raw people just swallow them. How you supposed to get any flavour without chewing? Lobster. I'd love to try that.

Many places do a cheese-less pizza nowadays. Think Pizza Express do.

I have never tried seafood and never want to. I have an intense dislike of anything that lives underwater. I did eat fish fingers when I was a kid though.

McDonalds Beef Burgers (or in fact any type of burger as parents wouldn't buy them) - there wasn't one in our town when I was growing up and I went veggie at 12. Don't think I'm missing out though.
Any form of seafood. Pate - smells rank. |

Scallops.
And lots of other stuff (meat/fish/seafood) as I've been a veggie for so many years... but scallops are something I keep seeing on food shows and always make me wonder... WTF does that taste like?!! I have no desire to try a scallop but I honestly have no clue of the taste/texture or what it's remotely similar to!

Swedish Fermented Herring, and not ferkin likely. Apparently stinks the house out for days.
That's why they eat it outside, whatever the weather |

I have never tried Sushi, but would give it a try. Just never been anywhere where it's on the menu. |

although many say this...frogs legs tastes like chicken!
snails however, horrible. It was on a school trip to Paris when I was about 14. It was our first night there and it was meant to be a treat put on for us by the people who ran the place. I was literally the only one (besides the teachers) that would try them, all the other kids refused. I was very much liked by the staff after that and they kept giving me extra dessert and things.
