What foods did you never used to like...
...but like now?
I used to hate mushrooms and broccoli but love them now. I'm also starting to like king prawns and a little bit of tuna. On the other hand, I used to like eating smoked haddock and crab sticks when I was younger but don't anymore!! |

Until I was 15 I was the world's fussiest eater. I was awful. I ate the same thing for months on end, and then switched to something else, and would hardly eat anything else. It was turkey burgers and oven chips for a while, then fish fingers and baked beans, then baked potato with tuna. I turned my nose up at EVERYTHING anyone cooked, wouldn't try anything, wouldn't eat anything that wasn't entirely identifiable, hated veg and anything resembling casserole or stew. My mother had just about given up.
And then over the course of the summer holidays when I was 15 I suddenly decided to eat everything. I don't know what happened. I just started eating normally, and now I like nearly everything. I'm not hugely keen on celery or celeriac or asparagus, and I wouldn't eat tripe, but just about everything else is fair game, and I can't think of much I would downright refuse to eat if I came to your house and you served it up. |

Most young people hate olives. When they reach a certain age, usually somewhere between 12 and 92, they will fall in love with these enigmatic fruits.
Same applies to mustard and horseradish. I have no idea why this happens.

Mushrooms Lettuce/Cabbage (so basically vegetables ahah) THough i'll never ever eat Brussell sprouts - YUCKKK!!! The term 'Mushrooms' covers hundreds of species of edible fungus. Have you tried them all? Grow your own lettuce (not iceberg) and enjoy it dressed with garlic, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Yum, yum! Sprouts are odd. Cook them like people do for Christmas and you'll find a fart wrapped up inside each one. ![]() Take sprouts and wash them. Remove the outer leaves and the stalks. Then chop them into little bits. Heat olive oil in a pan and fry some bits of bacon and chopped walnut. Chuck in your chopped sprouts and stir fry for a couple of minutes. It will be so good you will love sprouts . It's all down to the right ingredients and the correct way to cook things.

My Mother tells me that I wouldn't go near Chow Mein, which is quite funny because I won't order chinese food without it now.
I also used to hate pretty much all Veg, like all kids, but now I eat tons of the stuff. |

I used to be a right pain in the arse with food until I was probably about 18 actually.
I didn't like mushrooms like many have said, now I absolutely crave them most of the time! The most bizarre is fish. I used to hate it with a passion, I mean I would almost throw up at the smell. Now seafood, particularly mussells and crab are my favourite food. It just goes to show its mostly a mental block thats telling you 'you will hate it', when really it might agree with you. Or it could just be maturity. lol |

Butter. I never liked the taste and I still spread it (or margarine) as thinly as possible when making sandwiches. However I have come round to liking it on vegetables, but still dislike the aroma that lingers when I've been eating asparagus or corn-on-the-cob and some butter has dribbled on to my chin..

Black olives, tomatoes and avocados - since I was 30
I used to like fish but hate it now - I went vegetarian at 32. I eat meat again but can't go back to fish. I had my first Chinese and Indian at 22. It was years of Vesta curries that put me off till then. |
