Does anyone know why "Dave" is available free on Freeview?yet you have to pay for the extra mix to get it with Tiscali.
And why if you do a DTT scan it doesn't find "Dave" but still use's the DSL to supply "Dave".

Its called the profit motive.. and b4 you ask not all of us get freeview coverage, I dont, thats why I got tiscali (actually it was for channel5 as well)

Tiscali have to pay UKTV for their channel bundle. At a guess I would say that contract includes a payment for Dave from before the days when it was available on Freeview, so Tiscali bundle it with the other UKTV channels to reclaim the cost.

One quick question though (I'm at work so can't check myself). Is there a difference between the availability of Dave on Tiscali compared to Freeview? For example, does it broadcast all day on one and only evenings on the other?

Am pretty sure this has been posted before, as i understand it Tiscali broadcasts a premium version of Dave over ADSL which has more broadcast hours than the version that is on freeview. They had the channel when it was UKTV 2 before it rebranded to Dave

Dave is the same hours across all platforms.

UKTV History is limited to 6am to 6pm on Freeview.
