Who's yours..?

Mine is Ianto, today he rocked. He was funny as hell and managed to kill most of the gang members single-handedly without too much effort. Loved him.

In series 1, he was in the background, in series 2 he's further in the foreground IMO than some of the others.

It has to be Tosh for me.

Gwen. A lot of people seemed to be turned off her because of her affair, but I always thought that she was the heart and the most well-rounded character in Torchwood by a country mile.

I'm not sure who I'd have second to that. The level of John Barrowman's acting seems to yoyo up and down (I like him when he's good), and Ianto's character is getting a lot more attention, which is good (and helps me to forget Cyberwoman).

Well it's turned from Jack to Ianto this season. He's just really got more screen time and funny lines, which brings out his character more.

Toshiko for me

Definately Ianto.
He's gorgeous, getting funnier every week. And he really kicked ass tonight!

Legend isn't he. Lol. Last series he seemed pointless, this series he's probably bigger than Tosh and Owen in terms of his role in Torchwood.

Lol I disagree, I remember seeing her in Belonging a few years ago and she was very good in that, okay she hasn't done as well in torchwood, but she's done fine I think. Although, this series I've lost that affinity I had with her during series 1 when she was new to the org.

Ianto definitely..He needs to be given more screen time though. Plus I need an explanation on how one minute he is seriously grieving for his dead girlfriend and the next he is playing tonsil hockey with Captain Jack.I would like some information on exactly when this relationship began.

Ianto or Tosh..both need more screen time

I'd say the Sea Slug alien from last night, but I guess I'll have to say Ianto. Certainly this series they have defined his character a lot better and Gareth David-Lloyd at least shows some talent.

Jack but Ianto's a close second - he makes me laugh so much

Ianto, he makes me laugh and he's caring and organised and certainly knew how to use those stun guns with style last night!

Closely second favourite for me is Gwen. I don't understand why so many people really dislike her. Can anyone tell me?

Actually I like them all quite equally, apart from Owen. I really hate him!

That was a bit odd during series 1 when one minute he was with Jack, then a dead cyberwoman, and then Jack again. But I think they'd rather we forget about Lisa.

Ianto especially, I hope this wasn't the last of him having a big role in their missions.

He indeed does. He did great in last night's episode.

Exactly what i was going to say-if you'd asked me last series it would be a definate 'Jack'-i didn't even like Ianto much last series but its definately Ianto now. My O/H isn't really a torchwood fan but he loves Ianto's one-liners.

Jack, no question. The rest a long way behind and Gwen as far as possible behind them!

For me she isn't a natural actress, she doesn't make me want to believe she is Gwen. There is also an element of forcefulness and clunkiness about her acting.

Take the 'rant' scene at the end of Meat, her arms waving like a banshee; trying to convey emotion that just wasn't believable to me. Which compared to Ianto, his sarcastic one liners are delivered dead pan or running around stunning people he showed determination and quiet anger.

I agree!! Owen also has his moments and is much more sympathetic than last series. Is it bad that I like all the 'flunkies' more than the main characters? Not that I don't like them, just not as much.

I even really liked Tommy last week!

Another vote here for Ianto.

He Sweet, Funny, Stoic, Manly, Loyal and intriguingly guarded.

Also, he's totally *phwoar-some*! What more could one possibly want? He's ace!

Toshiko has rapidly become my second favorite over the course of this series. She seems much more well rounded than in Season One. Again, Stoic is a word I'd use to describe her, with an underlying optimism that just can't be quashed no matter what. She rather reminds me of Willow, from Buffy, in that respect.

Next, Gwen. She really does do the whole *Empathetic* thing extremely well. If only she'd stop doing the ridiculous doe-eyes at Jack, she'd... well, she'd still be third on my list, but not by such a large gap.

Fourth is Rhys. I just have an enduring warmth for him. He seems like a good sort.

Fifth, Owen. Last year, I'd have placed him absolute bottom, as I simply couldn't stand the sight of him. This yea... I dunno why. He just seems to have grown on me. He doesn't seem quite the hugely self-centered arsehole he did, last season.

Absolute Last, and by a phenominal margin - Captain Jack 'Jazz-Hands' Harkness. As a guest character on Doctor Who, he works. But that is a much camper, fluffier show. Whereas, he's just WAAAAAAY too Sylvia Young for Torchwood - and seems hopelessly miscast as the big ol' action hero.

As I said in another post... him as Jack, is like watching Zsa Zsa Gabor playing Xena -Warrior Princess.

Doesn't work. Ridiculous beyond words, dahlink.
