What does everyone think to Mark Ronson and the new track Just? Check out the my space account for remixes by the Go! Team and DJ Premier (Both fantastic!)

I know people can sometimes get a bit precious about Radiohead - don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan myself - but that Ronson version is just an abomination.

When Mike Flowers covered 'Wonderwall' it was sh*te, but it was cheesy, amusing, knowing sh*te. This is just honest-to-god no-redeeming-qualities-whatsoever sh*te.

Totally agree with that last comment, The only reason anyone has heard of him is because the radio stations etc... are ramming his lp down our lug holes.

That Amy Whitehouse track "valerie" is just awful, The intro sounds like some cheap drum machine, she's better than that.

The video is just a cheap rip off of the original. Listen to the and you'll see 'Just' how bad a job he's done of it.

Mark Ronson is loved by the media as he has a lot of showbiz friends in high places.

The two versions compared side to side:

Radiohead - Just

What do you think?

I'm a big Radiohead fan myself and Just is infact one of my favourite songs by them, but i love Ronson's version and have done since i heard it about 2 years ago on the radio. I'm sure Radiohead themselves enjoy it too if they allowed it to be released.

Rubbish, he is loved by the media as he has friends in high places?!?

He is flavour of the month as he is an awesome producer and has made something of himself.

He has gone from being a UK club DJ to being one of t he most in demand producers in the world, you dont manage that just because you are mates with Amy Winehouse etc.

I saw him live in Plymouth last week and too be honest I dont go too much on his music personally but there is no way this guy isnt talented.

Not sure about singing, I assume not but he plays a few instruments, just not expertly.

mark ronson is not the musical genius the press make him out to be. he does covers....most karoke acts do covers. His covers are not that great too and he does not sing on them either. Producing music has been going on for decades...its people like Timbaland and Ronson who are trying to make it into something it isnt.

mediocre rubbish...the listeners seem to love that kind of things these days

Mark does not just do covers of karoke tracks. He produced most of Lilly Allen's and Amy Whinehouse's last albums.

I suggest you do your research.

They're doing no less than Dr. Dre, Desmond Child and George Martin did though, all their doing is putting their name to it. Nothing wrong with that - we all know he's not singing or playing the horns but then we all acknowledge that it's his sound that we like. Also, don't mistake popularity for genius, no-one's said he's a genius but he does have the golden touch at the moment. It'll only last another few months and we'd have all moved on.

Yeah but he was nominated because of his own album of cover versions, not for being a producer. Even if they were the best cover versions the world had ever seen it would still be ridiculous imo for someone who didn't sing or write songs to win a best male artist award.

Does anyone know if he thanked the original songwriters of those songs in his acceptance speech? Surely they deserve some credit .

Whilst I wouldn't disagree, this is the Brits and Robbie Williams ahs the most awards of any person so there lies the problem with it. The fact is, his sound is THE sound of the moment so he has been awarded for his production skills, yes. Whether or not he should have is a different argument and one you'll have to take up with every other awrding body because for every award Ronson wins here, Timbaland is winning even more over the pond.

It's a grey area for sure and one I'd like to see rectifed because it is wrong.

And where were Iron Maiden for best group!?

Ronsons weekly radio show on Kiss FM used to be great. He knows his music.
Try and download his radio one essential mix and you'll see why he is the man of the moment.
