Try the LVD forum over at AVF, far more likely to find a fellow user

As for a TV that has been repaired 6 times (for the same fault?) then have a chat with trading standards as to your rights, if the retailer or warranty company can not fix the problem get a replacement or your money back.

I just bought a set on Friday and it has odd white pinprick flashes every now and then. Then the whole picture shakes and flickers, intermittedly before doing some mighty shuddering and switching itself off and on. This is after about 40 minutes watching. Short viewings have been fine but only watched it twice and had the same problem. I had altered the settings to be optimum ones suggested over at avforums.

Today the same thing happened again but instead of turning itself off and on, it decided to scroll the picture downwards, split it into 4 with a black bar square in the centre of the screen and the first half of the picture in the second half of the screen. The second half of the picture then was in the first half of the screen.

I have now reset the tv to factory settings and the tv stayed stable for about 2 hours. So now am in a bit of a dilemma whether to take it back tomorrow or assume it doesn't like being fiddled around with too much in the settings. However, that is what they are there for so I didn't think any conflicts would arise.

I will have another go and see what it is like. I don't fancy going down the 6 sets track like yourself. I usually buy Panasonics for us, though the kids have Samsungs and have had no problems with them whatsoever.

Any advice what to do with it?

I was going to get a refund last night but my hubbie took it back and he exchanged it for another. This one is fine and has an excellent picture on it. So touch wood it will be okay. We have not had any problems with the other Samsungs in the house.

What Hifi, gave the Sony P3020 the best budget 32 inch award in its latest mag which may be worth you looking at.
