Problems sending texts
My friend has given me a Nokia N73 that was originally on the O2 network.
I've put my Vodafone sim card in and it has accepted it. Vodafone has sent me 2 text messages in order for me to set up my vodafone live and picture messaging which i've saved. I can currently receive text messages and I can make phone calls, but I cant send texts. Any ideas? |

You will have to make sure you have the right service centre number so that you can send/receive texts.

Yes, the message centre should be set to SIM message centre (or Vodafone). (This is in Messaging, press options, select Settings)

When you received the settings did you say Yes to setting them as default?
How are you trying to connect to Vodafone Live and what does it say on screen? |

Yep I saved them so they set as default.
I've tried all ways to connect. I initially pressed the button to the right of the start up screen that still says O2 and it says 'connecting via contractWAP(01)' then nothing happens and it says 'services: Unable to perform operation' I looked in the menus and clicked on 'web' but it says 'web: unsupported content' I tried changing the settings so the homepage is the vodafone one, but i'm running out of ideas now.

Some things to try:
Delete the O2 settings from the phone. Check Vodafone Live is still set as homepage. On the standby screen, press and hold 0. Hope this helps, if not try a local Vodafone store who can check the settings for you. |

Hi, normally the 'Happy Handsets' messages you received would configure your phone for WAP, Internet and Picture Messaging. It could be that they're not set as the defaults.
If you're not going to use the phone on O2 then I'd say delete all of the settings on your phone and send them again from the N73 help section of the Vodafone website. Fingers crossed that'll get you up and running! edwardpeter Vodafone UK |
