Masthead amp powered by Toppy?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has used a 5v PSU powered by the toppy output to drive a masthead amp?

Most of the standard ones I have seen are 12v including screwfix (where I will likely get it due to cost) but I read that some 12v's can be driven by the output to a reasonable level.

At the mo I have a standard booster in the loft to a two way splitter, but for neatness sake I would prefer a masthead.
I have the cables from the loft going to my bedroom and lounge, and the picture quality is blocky on some channels without a booster (when unpowered and split there are missing muxes.)

Any thoughts about the quality of either solution or mastheads/splitters used would be ideal.

Ta,

There certainly are some people who have been using some with the 5v supply. Try here:

Thanks, a bit worried though that the 5v supply is not maintained when the box is in standby, defeats the object of any 2 way splitter to my bedroom etc, if I have to keep it on. The HD noise although changed to silent using HDDinfo is noticeable as a low hum in a quiet room.

Thanks
