Far from my favourite of theirs, but pretty good nonetheless. The girls sing quite well on it, I think. I prefer "The Sound Of The Crowd", "Mirror Man", "Don't You Want Me" and "Tell Me When" (not necessarily in that order) though.

Yep for sure, that is a classic track. Infact Human League have done many classic tracks

Don't You Want Me
Mirror Man
Tell Me When
(Keep Feeling) Fascination
The Lebano
Louise

And I know it wasn't excatly Human League but the duet that the lead singer done with another artist -

Together In Electric Dreams.

Not a bad song, but not really the Human League, as was...

I love that song 'Louise', as it isn't a sickly sweet love song, it's grounded in reality and reflects emotions of lost love and looking back to the past that have affected all of us at one time or another. Though, bizarrely, when Phil Oakey does the speaking bit in the middle, I always thought his accent sounded more Irish than the Yorkshireman I thought he was.

And another thing. You know that track 'Life On Your Own'? Have always been puzzled that he sings 'Winter is approaching, there's snow upon the ground'.
I would suggest that was a pretty clear indicator that winter has, in fact, arrived...

The producer of 'Dare' lives near me. I've stroked his gold disc. It was a magical moment. Although it could have done with a dust.

I'm not keen on 'Human'.
And I don't like 'Don't you want me?"
I just find songs like those boring and dreary.

I just tend to not like them when they go too 'poppy'.

But I do like The Human League a lot. Excellent band.
They've made some great music.

Here's some songs that I do like by The Human League....

The Human League - Things That Dreams Are Made Of

The Human League - Being Boiled

The Human League - The Sound Of The Crowd

I love Human for my own sentimental reasons - one of them being because it reminds me of breaking up with one of my first girlfriends who was heavily into her 80s hits.

I love the League's less commercial stuff as well - even some of the stuff from the days when half of Heaven 17 were still members!

I remember 'Human' being on the radio a lot as a kid but it's not one of the ones you tend to hear on the radio anymore. I tend to hear 'mirror man' quite a bit.

Human is my favourite of Human's League's songs. The video is great and so are the lyrics.

At the time, it was a brave new sound, moving away from the electropop and towards a more pop R&B. Very disappointed with the album, tho.

I think it was produced by Jam & Lewis who also produced Janet Jackson's hugely successful 'Control' album and Alexander O'Neil's 'Criticise' album.

I always preferred 'Love is all that matters', the follow up single off the same album. The production on it fantastic which doesn't really come across on a Youtube mono vid.

I preferred the likes of 'Blind Youth' (from Reproduction) and 'Crow And A Baby' (from Travelogue).

Dare was a definitive early 80s album but I prefer the more avant garde stuff from the early days.
