Well done to Amy. Hope she's on the road to recovery.

Great to see her albums still racking up good sales in the UK even after all this time. Even better that she is being successful in the states because she is unique & not a perpackaged product tailored to fit into the American market.

I can honestly say that I don't understand how this woman has had the success that she has had. I expect that I'll be flamed for this, but to my ears her singing is awful.

Yup agreed.

I also think that those who run these awards should stop rewarding stars who set such a bad example to the teenagers of today.

Ms Winehouse and Mr Doherty should be shunned by award ceremonies until they clean up their acts and stay clean.

Wonder if they will inspire her to get well or she will think I've done so well despite being off my cake and carry on with her consumption!?

I agree with this to a certain degree - the Grammys awards good music by an artist, not a lifestyle the artist lives!

However, the "Legend of the Year" award Pete Doherty won from Q magazine?? or was it NME? WTF??

I agree too. Bloody annoying. You can't take 5 steps without anybody mentioning her.

Its very hard to actually NOT win a Grammy. There is millions of bloody categories, it just gets silly. Look at the full list !!

And the Grammy for the best song with "and" in the title go's to...........

With a bit of luck, now that the 'will she, won't she appear' is over and done with, she'll disappear back into rehab and we won't have to hear anything about her until her next album's released.

Of course that isn't likely to happen because the biggest drug she and the rest of that family, inlaws included, are addicted to his the flipping publicity

You and I both know that BUT impressionable kids more often than not don't.

Yes but true musical talent is just about pitch perfect singing. It's about a lot more than that.

There's been plenty of great acts in the past who weren't the best singers, but they had what mattered, soul, spirit, that unquantifiable something.

It's not about how good you can sing, how pitch perfect you are, how you can keep in key, it's about the whole thing. The music behind the acts and what the entirety of everything blended together communicates.

You could probably take the vocals away from 'Back to Black' and I think that I would probably still be blown away by that song.

There's not been much I've thought has been that good throughout the noughties, but for me Amy Winehouse stands out in a big way.
Should have got the Mercury prize as far as I'm concerned.

I'm happy for her. I just hope she doesn't make a mess of everything and goes off the rails again. So congratulations to her, I'm so glad to see her do so well and appear to be getting back in control of herself.
Sometimes she can be an idiot, but she just happens to be an incredibly talented idiot.
Good luck to her and best wishes.

It's hard to listen to the lyrics when the voice singing them sounds like finger nails on a blackboard! Just my opinion of course!

Well to me it should be about the music, not about enforcing morality onto acts to make sure they're family friendly role models and model citizens.
Whatever she does doesn't affect me, it's only going to be potentially counter productive to herself.
Yes, the car crash media stuff can annoy me, but it's only going to directly affect her. I don't feel I have the right to enforce my own morality onto her or say that she should be shunned. If she becomes her own worst enemy it will be a shame, but I can't tell her how she should behave, that's something for herself to sort out.

Amy Winehouse is Amy Winehouse, I don't think she should be lumped together with Pete Docherty when they are completely seperate people.

WELL DONE AMY!

She more than deserves it - she has been the ONLY unique artist to come out of this country since the glory days of Paul Weller, Elton John etc!

She's a re-incarnated and updated Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, all the great torch singers...

I think she is truly spell-binding, and the UK should be PROUD of her talent!

Her personal life could be better, but no one is perfect - lets hope she gets all the help she needs, and doesn't become as desperate as poor Britney.

We should be applauding her talent! Lets get behind the Winehouse!

How do you know that she hasn't already done a bit of soul searching and is genuinely trying to keep herself together now?

She might have done for all we know. Because after all we'd probably not get to know about it because the media tend to focus more on the more salacious, gratuitous, tabloid headline grabbing news.
You're not going to get paparazzi hunting her down or using secret undercover hidden camera exposes that lead to daily tabloid headlines reading "Amy Winehouse Took No Drugs Today". It's usually just the sensationalised bad stuff we get to read.
Mind you having said that it's Amy Winehouse so you never know.

I agree, sick of seeing her in the papers now. She needs to go away for a while, work on new material, come back with a strong single instead of all this over-exposure.
