Would anyone know how to reset BT Diverse 4010/4016 base station?

Hi folks,

Am new to this forum and would be most grateful if someone could lend a (cyber) helping hand with a second-hand BT Diverse 4010/4016 phone.

Having bought this to be used as a stand-alone to start off with, I recently bought some additional handsets (same series/model). They can be added to my other BT diverse 4010/4016 base stations except this particular one, whose previous owner had probably reset the PIN (factory default being 0000). Hence it's refusing to accept additional handset registration because I don't know what the PIN is.

Would anyone know how one can reset the PIN of this base station so that it can been coerced into accepting additional handsets?

Thanks in advance for any hints/advice.

try these;

Reset base: power off, power up with page button held in.

Reset pin: Menu, int, 89376200

More here;

If you google BT+4016+manual then there are lots of hits, many free downloads of the user manual.

Hi LCDMAN,

Many thanks for help -- the trick to reset the base works like a charm! It is now happy to accept other handsets!

Also try the steps you pointed out to reset the PIN but don't quite understand the procedure -- do you mean pressing 'menu', 'int', and then '89376200' in sequence? The diverse model I have is the one with handsfree and after pressing 'menu' and 'int' it prompted me to select which internal handset to page. If I tried pressing any digits I would get the complaining tune (an annoying descending scale...) So I guess I probably misunderstood your instructions.

Thanks loads for the link -- will make a record for future reference (I do have hardcopies of the manual already

I am still pretty much stuck in the digital stone age hence still using a bunch of 4010/4016

Thanks again!
