Because of trees and position of his new house, my son and his neighbours are unable to receive Sky satellite signals. The only other way to receive analogue tv is to have an aerial about 10-15ft above house height. I don't know if that height is allowed, but the trees are protected so can't be "moved". He had a great deal on Sky+, but the installer confirmed he couldn't do it.
Has anyone else had this problem ?( he is in the west midlands, not up a mountain). Also no cable in the village.

Certainly there are some circumstances that make it effectively 'impossible' to get Sky - but if this was a Sky installer?, I would suggest you try getting a decent local installer to have a look, Sky's own installers (and contractors) often say you can't get it, when it just requires a little more work.

Many thanks, Nigel.
I'll pass that on.

Guide to Tree Preservation Procedures link
You can apply to the local planning authority for permission to prune a tree with a preservation order attached.

Can anyone recommend a Sky installer in the Stourbridge / Bromsgrove area for a second opinion on the above problem?

Trrees must tower over you then. The satellites are up at about 30 degrees.
